Produktinformationen "Chen-kuan Lee (1914–2003) und der Chinesische Werkbund"
Together with Hugo Häring and Hans Scharoun, Lee founded the Chinese Werkbund (1941-1953), which was intended to contribute to the intercultural development of ideas between Chinese and German architecture. Lee's engagement with questions of architecture, culture and, above all, Far Eastern philosophies had a significant influence on the work of the ‘Chinese Werkbund’ working group. Lee succeeded in incorporating the findings of this fruitful dialogue into his designs. Wen-chi Wang demonstrates this in a thorough treatment of selected residential buildings from southern Germany and Berlin. The book also contains a biography and catalogue raisonné of the architect, who was primarily active in Germany.
