After Jewish communities were dissolved during the Nazi period, a new Jewish community was founded in the postwar period under the protection of the US military administration, and a number of Jewish organizations were incorporated into it. Later, Frankfurt provided impulses for the new visibility of the Jewish community in the Federal Republic.
