Slanted Magazine #45-Sex was created in collaboration with the Munich-based Archive Artist Publications (AAP) under the direction of artist and archivist Hubert Kretschmer. This issue draws from one of the world's most extensive private collections of artist publications, which Hubert Kretschmer has been amassing since the 1980s. It contains over 89,988 rare zines, booklets, posters and other printed matter. Slanted Magazine #45-Sex presents a selection of artistic positions that deal with body politics, self-image and identity from a contemporary and historical perspective. In the design of visual narratives, marginalized bodies - non-binary, queer, disabled, racialized - are often underrepresented or depicted in a symbolic way. Slanted Magazine #45-Sex invites readers to question these conventions and encourages a critical look at the role of media in the representation of bodies.
